We have expanded our homestead with a new shop/garage building, a storage shed, our bathroom, and the second version of our chicken coop/run.
We look forward to even more interesting projects in 2012, including a live video monitor of our animals, and starting a miniature dairy with Nigerian dwarf goats.
Happy New Year, everyone.
I think it would be a very good idea if your plans include provisions for the wild animals you have in your area. I'm sure you are thinking about this, but I am sure you will agree with me that "Over" engineering is always a good philosophy when it comes to protecting investments. Good luck and keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, if we over-engineer any more, many of our projects will never happen. Then we would be what I like to call "armchair warriors."
ReplyDeleteSo we are specifying our goat barn to handle 112 mph winds, and our solar arrays can easily take 130 mph winds. We have learned a lot from living in the desert. Time, effort, and money are all used wisely for the best end result. Sara calls this "teleological." Thanks for all your input, Lee.
Happy new year.
